I have a copy of Rory Gallaghers' Tattoo album, (I believe a first pressing) which is in absolutely fantastic Nr Mint condition and with machine stamped (in error) numbers on the run-off, crossed out and corrected with a hand etched number. Furthermore, there is a FLAW in the vinyl itself, a sort of hard-spot or foreign body maybe. It plays ok over this flaw without jumping or sticking, but there is a definite audible click / grating. So, can anybody tell me if it's worth hanging on to, or should I just bin it?
According to eBay's guide on vinyl records, yours would be listed in the Very Good category (VG):
Generally worth 25 percent of Near Mint value. Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise
Unfortunately, the Nr Mint condition states that there are no scuffs or scratches that affect the owners listening experience.
So I would get a mint record appraised, and then take 25% of that for your value.
