After you've been working out a while, you're muscles adapt so that you will generally not be sore for long. If you've been working out for a while (and you have now), a good workout will result in some very minor soreness the next day (nothing like the horrible pain you probably experienced when you first started), but it will be gone the day after that.

If you're not feeling *any* soreness the next day, you could push harder. But you're doing the right thing, which is to build up slowly. A lot of people will try to push too hard too early and end up with an injury that takes weeks to heal.

I might be wrong but I think increasing weight increases muscle and strength whereas increasing reps increases stamina.

Feeling sore in the begginning of any workout schedule is perfectly normal, and a lot of folks would say is a good thing. Your doing everything fine it appears, and as far as not feeling sore anymore, that's a good thing too. You body will get used to the same strain on your muscles as you work through your weeks on whatever program you've chosen. Once your bodies hits a 'plateau', you will be forced to do what we call an 'explosive' workout used to give a quick hard shock so to speak to your muscles. After about a week of that then go back to your routine and try doing different exercises with the same weights, like instead of keeping your arms straight, try rotating your wrists a bit and put tension on other parts of your muscle groups, sorry I felt like typing...
