Firefox is much faster to render HTML than Internet Explorer, or to start up, etc.

Firefox feels faster. Like mh2m said, Opera seems faster than either and has some cool features. For me Opera seems rather buggy and some sites don't work right with it.

I don't know if I'm the only one but I generally run all 3, IE, Firefox, and Opera. I do certain things in each browser. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses.

I use interent explorer, but firefox definately
works wayy faster. it even restores your session when you turn off the computer, so when you turn it back on
whatever you were doing is still there.
the only bad thing is if your on something your not supposed to be on, your most likely going to get caught easier. haha
