Hi,
The bright colors of the fire bellied toads serve as a warning to predators (as in "I'm toxic!"
. While not the most toxic of amphibians, regular handling is not recommended (avoid if there are cuts on your hands) and your hands should always be washed thoroughly immediately after touching the frog (or cleaning the tank for that matter).
They will eat small feeder fish such as guppies, but crickets is more recommended for being more nutritionally full.
2-3 frogs can be housed in a 10 gallon tank. A larger number of frogs will happily live together in a larger tank (allow about 4 gallons of tank space per frog, and the long style aquariums provide more "floor space" for their size).
They will enter breeding season in summer. If you’ve kept your fire-belly toads until summer, you’re ready to spawn them. Keep them in their own tank with four to six inches of water. Feed them a variety of foods. Plankton should make a great conditioning food. Once they spawn, remove the parents to protect the offspring.
Good luck.

How to breed fire bellied toads?
Send me Fun Mail
1. I handel my FBTs a lot. Is that bad for them or me?
2. Can I feed them live fish? Like have them swim in the same tank?
3. How many will comfortably fit in a 10 gallon tank?
4. How can I make 2 mate?
THANKS!
