Distributive property? I'm probably way off (that was back in junior high), but...

25 + 25 + 25 + (etc.) = 225???

According to Algebrahelp.com., The Distributive Property is an algebra property which is used to multiply a single term and two or more terms inside a set of parentheses.

But, in your example it is already simply, all we can do is to multiply that single term like jax did.

9(25)
=9x25
=225

if it is more than one term, I.e.

9(25+2)
=(9x25) + (9x2)
=225 + 18
we can get 243.

No danymarie what he did is not powers. 25^9 would be 25X25X24 etc not 25+25+25 etc.
