What if i have feelings for my ex but i'm now taken?

Ages ago i went out with a girl who i was with for around 6 months. We kinda stopped seeing eachother and hardly spoke. (We were both around 15.. i am now nearly 17) I randomly asked her one day, are we still togeather and she said she had another...

boyfriend. That upset me alot. I Kinda forgot about it and was single for months. I had known a girl for ages and i was very close to her. I Finally asked her out and i am currently going out with her. Tonight i went and saw my ex girlfriend (as friends) and we had a friendly talk... she said she may have split up with her boyfriend. I went to walk her home and she wanted a friendly hug. I hugged her and knew deep down instide i had strong feelings for her, and alwase had done. She then looked in my eyes and kissed me... i kissed her too but i felt guilt for my girlfriend. I Really really feel for my ex but i am now feeling confused in what to do. My ex says she was upset and didnt know what she was doing... i belive different, i think she loves me just as much as i love her!

If anyone has been in the same situation or has some advice for me it would be greatly appreciated.

i think that u should tell ur current g.f wats going on, dont leave her in the dark. but before u talk to ur g.f talk to ur ex and tell her how u feel. once u do that ask her how she feels about it. mayb she still does feel the same way. but if u liike someone else strongly and not ur g.f dont go out with her cause u may end up hurting her later on..

I HAVE BEEN IN THE SAME SITUATION. I HAD AN EX THAT I WAS DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH AND HE BROKE UP WITH ME WHEN I FOUND A NEW BOYFRIEND MY EX NEEDED ME THERE WHILE A GRANDPARENT OF HIS WAS IN THE HOSPITAL WELL MY CURRENT BOYFRIEND SAID THAT IT WAS OK TO GO WELL I WENT AND I TOOK HIM HOME WHEN I DROPPED HIM OFF HE WANTED A HUG I GAVE IT TO HIM HE ENDED UP KISSING ME AND I KISSED HIM BACK I FELT HORRIBLE. WE HAD BROKE UP FOR A REASON AND I WAS WITH MY CURRENT BOYFRIEND FOR A REASON SO I KEPT IT TO MYSELF THAT WE KISSED BUT I STAYED WITH MY BOYFRIEND CUZ I REMEMBERED WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY SEVERAL PEOPLE IF U BROKE UP FOR A REASON THEN WHY GO BACK WITH THEM THE PROBLEM WILL JUST REACURE SOMETIME.

Yeah very true, thanks for the advice people! She texted me and said she told her boyfriend and that they sorted everything out, so i guess ill have to forget about it all and put her in the past..
