Here is a list of “Rated” dog foods…they are rated by the ingredient list. You’ll see that many of the old stand by’s don’t cut the mustard…There are some, tho…that are econimcal as well as highly nutricious…If you have a Costco card…or Sam’s Club, the Kirlands is VERY econimcal, and high rated…

ALSO…I put an SOS out to magichalo1…she’s very experienced in pups needing weight gain…I’m sure that one thing she’s going tell you, is a dab of “activated Plain Yougurt” to help get the good bugs build up in her little gut…Parvo wipes out the lining of the gut.

PS…for the time being, until her gut is healed up totally…keep away from vitamin additives, etc…Congrats on saving your baby, Parvo is devastating, you DID GOOD!!

Ok I went through this let me tell you what I did. How old is the pup? Because we gave those shots anyway. Every dog we had that hadn’t had a shot in 6 months got a shot. I hope you are bleaching (1 cup bleach to 1 gal water) because your puppy continues to shed those provo cells.

Ok the food. I am not sure of your pups age but her is what I fed. Meat baby food (any brand), with Vitual Wheat Gluten Flour and Natural Digestive Enzyme Blend for dogs my brand is PetGuard. I also used some Gerber baby cereal wheat or rice. Get some vit C and E in the gel cap that you can make a small hole in the end.

Also cook Beef liver boil or sear and grind it up in the blender ( your pup will eat this like crazy) don’t over feed but if you boil (best idea) you can pour the juice over the food mixer.

The Wheat Gluten is top quality protein from the heart of the wheat head. It is what helps bread raise. You can get it and the Digestive Enzyme from the Health food store. Actually this all does not cost that much. There are many brands of the DE

Oh you need plain yogurt to add in the food, builds the intestinal flora back.

Pour the baby food (get chicken or turkey) in the bowl add Wheat Gluten and is she a pitbull dog? because pups that would make her the same size as a Boxer pup or smaller.

Pour those in the bowl and add the ground liver and squeeze in a little C and E just a couple of drops. (builds the immune system as does the liver) You can add some of that can dog food or a little dry depending on her size. Add the ED according to the directions for her weight. Pour some of the liver juice from boiling it over the mixer to make if the consistency of a can of dog food.

Also free feed your dog now. Always lots of water and dry dog food down. Which kibble are you using? Make sure it is high protein and starts with Meat and Meat byproducts.

I know it sounds like a lot but it really isn’t when you can get the foods at the grocery store and the health food store.

Here is what you need Meat Baby food Yogurt Wheat Gluten Four (sometimes it is in the store) Beef Liver Digestive Enzyme Blend for dogs

As you see her gaining weight you can move to just can dog food for the baby food. etc. Be sure she is wormed with Strongid T because Provo opens the door for all kinds of parasites.

How old is she?

My dog went from a skeleton to healthy and sleek and well rounded. She is beautiful now.

ok guys, I just went ahead and went to the feed store and got a 7way shot kit for her. man that just killed me having to stick that big needle in her, hell she doesn’t have ANY meat on her bones. but she did just fine.can’t thank you all enough.now I just have to get her in for her rabies shot.

Go down to your local feed store and get some stuff called “Missing Link” It is a food additive that does wonders for your dogs health, their coat and over all well being. You dog will love the taste and you will love the result!

YES…DO get the shots…there is more in a “puppy shot” than Parvo vacinne…it’s a 5 way shot, with distemper vaccine (another HUGE killer) in it, and 3 other doggie diseases…She made it, and that’s wonderful…but as soon as the vet says “ok” get her started on her series.

oh thank you all sooo much, I will be going to the grocry as soon as I am done here. sukee’ is a 4 month old pit bull. that is a pic. of me and her by my name.no need to worry you guys, I have probly gone through $50 worth of bleach since she became sick. my hands are cracked and ready to start bleeding.. but my baby girl is well worth it.ok so the vet said she will not give her her shots till she is better, but she also said that she would only be sick for 10-14 days, and I know it’s been aleast that long, but she is much better now, and if you think she should get the shots still I want to get them for her.

The food that you are feeding are not really good dog foods. check out Nutro or Newman’s own.
