Fathers day.

My mom really wants to me to get her boyfriend a fathers day present. She said it would be kind, because he lives with us and buys me a lot of things. However, I do have a father, he jsut doesn't live with me.. I dont really feel comfortable buying him a present, but now my mom is upset with me..any suggestions?

Hi perhaps this new man in your mom's life means a lot to her since he already lives there.He is not trying to replace your father I am sure of it but he probably would like to be part of your life aswell.I see nothing wrong with getting him a little something.Try putting yourself in your mom's situation.

That should be your choice if you buy him something or not... I would probably have a hard time buying someone other than my father something unless it was as if he practically been around for years and/or I was really close.

If it were me, I couldn't do such a thing. If I was to put myself in your shoes I will just buy an expensive gift 4 my real dad like an expensive perfume then I will buy a set of coflins or a shirt 4 your mother's boyfriend. But if you dont feel comfortable with buying a gift 4 your mother's boyfriend, then just dont do it because you are going against your wish wish which will lead you to nothing. But at least buy him something if you feel like not because of your mother but from your heart and because he is kind 2 u. If you dont understand my point, just funmail me and ill tell u. K?

Buying him something would not mean you are replacing your father, nor would it change your relationship. But it would be a nice gesture to someone who does things for you and it would make your mum happy... But at the end of the day, it really is up to you.

They do make cards for men that are father figures. If there are no problems or conflicts between you and this man there is nothing wrong with showing him a little love. It does not mean that you love your real father any less. My kids always send a card to their dad and to their stepfather.
