Fatal frame?

New hair.... Asked by missariaaaa about 1 year ago, 7 answers.

Is Fatal Frame a good horror survival game/series?

I know I'm out-dated, but I'm thinking of playing the series so then I'll have the hang of it what it's all about when the fourth one comes out (I want to play it on the Wii =D).

I've heard the...

series is great, but I'm used to playing the RE games. _ I decided not to play UC yet because of it not being a survival horror game, which takes the fun part of the game away. _

If you don't think so, which survival horror game do you recommend for the PS2 or Wii?

I wouldn't reccomend playing Alone in the Dark. The early games in the seies were good (but I'm not sure if you're willing to play old PC/PSone games though), but as the series went on, they got progressively worse. The most recent one has an average of 5-6-/10 score in reviews.

Silent Hill is a great series. I'd say the story and eerie atmosphere is far more engrossing than Resident Evil's, but the gameplay isn't quite as smooth. It's definitely a must-have series if you love survival horrors. (SH2 and SH3 are especially worth getting as they are arguable the best in the series).

I would also reccomend the Fatal Frame series. (Fatal Frame 2 and 3 in particular. FF1 is a little outdated). They are very scary and offer unique gameplay totally different than RE and SH.
Here is a great article on Fatal Frame, for people who are unfamiliar with the series. It explains the plot, gameplay and shows a trailer to give you an idea on what the games are like: http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/38474/t1104690-if-you-not-familiar-with-fatal-frame-project-zero-series/

I've heard about Silent Hill, which I was also recommended to also. Thanks, that definitely helps! ^_^

I love playing video games where it scares you so much, but is so interesting you just can't look away. xD It's like Saw.

That's so much fun with RE4! But right now I messed my arm up by playing too much Wii...so playing RE4 is no more for the next few weeks...stupid doctor. I was almost done beating it for the second time too. D=

But she said nothing about PS2, so that's what I'm going to do instead. xD That's why I'm trying to find a survival horror for it. Haha!

Fatal Frame IS pretty creepy, and the photography element is an interesting touch. I just wish the main character could run faster than normal people walk.

Thanks so much! I'm actually going back to a PS1 game and playing Parasite Eve because when I was 5, it gave me nightmares and I stopped playing it. _ So I';m going to replay that sometime and I'm going to buy the first installment of the FF series. It looks really creepy and scary, and even if it's out-dated, I want to start at the beginning. ^_^
