why do you think people try to be who they really are not

I think people deep down really want to be accepted its in our nature. So some people have a certain idea of what the ideal person should be or behave so they act like this and sometimes its so far off who they really are it comes across so fake and weak.

Remember when ever you meet people like this that they are not really doing this to deceive you, they are just trying to deceive themselves. :-)

becuase they are insecure about who they really are

people who try to be someone they aren't want to be accepted but think that who they really are wont be accepted

their either insecure [like that other person said] or maybe theyre really trying to change who they are for the better

They believe they need to be something else in order to be accepted... It's all about insecurity

I agree with ty, they do it to be liked or accepted by a certain person or group of people.

I agree with ty as well, most people change who they are to be accepted in a certain group, I really don't know why people choose to fit in if they were born to stand out!

I understand that, I just to be like that... Cause I wasn't the smartest kid around
and got made fun of so I faked who I was, to get people to like me..
some advice is don't ever do that. Its bad for you. That why I write songs now
Its away for me to vent, and it helps me. I think people that do that will
learn, sooner or later, that its not about, what people think of you..
just know that who you are.. is your own business, and noone can take that away
from you.

I think it's because since they don't have a life/personality of their own, they true to pose as somebody who has an awesome personality and a real, fun life because they're probably jealous of that person and just want to be them. But fakes a f*ckin stupid... I hate them.
