Facebook or linkedin?

Evening Sky Asked by airnavigator about 1 year ago, 2 answers.

I have heard that Facebook is becoming a more popular (and useful) site for professional networking than Linkedin. What has your experience been?

I've stopped using both mostly, but I still have a business profile on LinkedIn. At this point, the only utility I derive from LinkedIn is to message people about what we're doing on FunAdvice

As for facebook...well, I don't believe that it'll remain a solid tool for much longer, as the investors HAVE to extract some value, and they have no revenue (other than advertising) in sight. Which means, they must start adding a LOT more ads per page view, and this will utilately degrade the user experience.

The good thing about us here, is that we don't have venture capital, and we're committed to maintaining the balance we have today between ads & content. So, in five years, when you see 67% of your facebook profile covered in ads (as your myspace one is now) you'll see FunAdvice with the same number, then as now.

Tell me: is there anything specific we could do, here on FunAdvice, to make it better/ easier for "business networking"?
