Shutting down a facebook profile?

any body know how to shut down a facebook profile? if show pleez help

then deactivate account.

above is right but then you will get a conformation email, and until you get that and follow the steps, it will still be active

All you can do is deactivate it - you cant completely delete your profile, which is dumb.

I read somewhere that you have to delete every little thing you have put on there one by one. Then you can contact the admin and they will delete it. But, here is the kicker. Even though it is not visible, Facebook has kept everything you have ever put on there. Read their agreement. They keep everything and then they can use it any way they want to.
