It could be several things - but mainly it sounds like minor irriation. Do you use this soap all the time or is it a new soap? If it's new - that could be the problem, you could be having a reaction to it.
What did you use to wash your face? Did you use a washcloth - was it rough? It also could have been the laundry detergent that was used to wash the washcloth.
It should stop buring in a few mintues though, if it doesn't then you could be having an allergic reaction.
