divert your attention from what you need to do, find a distraction, what always works for me is to start doing another creative activity that has nothing to do with writing, somehow I find inspiration in doing something different- it gets rid of my brain lock, and I can return once again to the task at hand.
case in point- my current EMT assignments, got major brain lock from absorbing new terms- pneumothorax, that sort of thing- got majorly burned out- got up found some stone to start carving- took an hour to bore a hole in a piece I am working on- when I was finished with that, I was ready to dive back into my homework.FULL STEAM AHEAD.

Exercises for writer's block? (urgent! looming deadline)
Does anyone know of any exercises that could help me get past writer's block and dissolve those pesky blockages in my creativity veins? I feel like I need something to help me get warmed up and focused. Perhaps a short writing activity or something?
hugs,
Jill...
