Q: ex-boyfriend

I was in a relationship for over a year.. I broke it of with him and broke his heart.. we got back together 6 months later, but he had changed and never gave us a chance.. needless to say the relationship did not last. However we do see one another here and there, because I contact him.. I realize i do love him and never should have broke up with him in the first place. He ells me he has moved forward, does not love me and does not want to date me, yet when i do see him.. i know he stil cares about me.. Is he fooling himself by not letting himself feel for me. because I huet him so bad. or am I fooling myself to believe that their is still hope for us and this relationship.. Advice please
