Evolution

Asked by jhocker2 about 1 month ago, 27 answers.

Then why doesnt it happen now??? Why dont humans have gills??? Or trees have feathers??? You think that we came from a rock?? Why dont we have half sheep half frogs?? We all came from one species right?? And you say it does exist... And all you bring up...

is HIV/disease.. But evolution is good for us right?? Jesus walked the earth for 33 years and you have yet to prove him wrong.. Cant that be proof enough.. He didnt know about micro-biology, or amino acids or protein or neurons. HE KNEW THE TRUTH.
Look at Mt Rushmore, Could that have been made by chance. We know it hasnt but think about it.. Could it, With rain and flood and sunlight and transition in the earth.. NO!!! Mt. Rushmore could not have been made by chance.. Yet we have trillions of cells , Billions of blood vessels, an eye that is so complex we cant even begin to imagine and yet that was made by chance.. You all are just trying to ignore the truth so much.. Just stop and think for a second...

Evolution takes millions of years and humans no longer evolve because there is no more natural selection!!!

Don't think so 2-Dimensionally!!!

What a confused muddle. You don't even have a rudimentary understanding of evolution. My simple question is this, why should people waste their time trying to convince you to base your understanding of the world and life on evidence, rather than childish myths and superstitions?

“You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep seated need to believe”

Your first question made it obvious that you have NO IDEA what evolution is about. Maybe if you took FIVE MINUTES to actually STUDY evolution objectively, you'd realize how silly all of your questions are... wow... and you're in your mid 20s too... shame on you for being so poorly educated.

You've yet to prove him RIGHT, either... try to AT LEAST provide a point that isn't flipped so easily...

Unfortunately, Captain, reason and science will never change the mind of someone whose belief system denies the existence of those very qualities.

The sad thing is that science doesn't even try to deny (or confirm) the existence of God, but these extremists seem to think that somehow if evolution is True then that diminishes or even negates God. Their Faith must be shallow if they fear such a dire outcome from the application of thought and reason.

...you mean a BANG... from the term: The Big Bang.

And even that is NOT meant to be taken literally. You would know that, again, if you'd merely take the time to learn about it. Judging a theory by its name is no less ignorant than judging a book by its cover.

Also, your 'eyes' example is a bad one. The human eye has a blind spot, and can detect only a limited spectrum of light. Didn't know? Again... RESEARCH. You'd think a divine ethereal creator, would make an optical organ, withOUT such an obvious flaw...

Then again, you're probably comfortable with your ignorace, and wouldn't want to learn anything that might challenge your views of the universe... or bliss...

Answered by jhocker2 on Oct 22, 2009, 02:57PM

BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO EVIDENCE!!! Where did it come from?? This bang that you speak of where did the comets, gas, particles where did they come from... You need more faith in evolution than to belive in God.. Why with science they take data and form conclusions.. But with evolution you formed conclusion yet dont have 100% data... It is the Theory of Evolution Not the theory of Christ.. I pray for all of you that read this that God may wake you up... And yet all you evolutionists just reply with we dont want to waste our time on you... Great answer.. actually I like that answer better than the complexed one you evolutionist believe.. And you know that when they are never able to prove you will find yourself more ways to doubt God.. But like I said.. Someone that lived 33 years and you have yet to prove him wrong.. And you are so far avanced in technology.. Its pretty simple...God said, Son go tell them what really happend and yet people still dont believe... You (evolutionists) are chasing an answer that you are never going to find..

***BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO EVIDENCE!!!***

There are aspect of Evolution that have been PROVEN to occur/exist. What part of Creationism/God has been proven to occur/exist?

***You need more faith in evolution than to belive in God.. ***

It just shows how little you understand the concept of FAITH also.

*** Theory of Evolution Not the theory of Christ.. ***

...its called the Theory of CREATIONISM. And there IS more tangible evidence to support Evolution than Creationism. And actually YOUR version of Jesus of Nazareth IS a theory, since you cannot prove he was the son of God, nor can you prove he did ANY of the 'miraculous' things depicted in the Bible.

Its pretty safe to conclude that Jesus Of Nazareth DID exist, but its also safe to conclude that Santa Claus DID exist too. But the Santa Claus from ACTUAL history, isn't the same person as the Santa Claus depicted in the Coca-Cola commercials.

***Someone that lived 33 years and you have yet to prove him wrong..***

Once again, you haven't proven him RIGHT, either. Actually, you have no way of actually knowing for certain WHAT his message TRULY was, you only know what is in the Bible, of which Jesus wrote NONE OF IT. So you have no way of knowing if his words spoken in the Bible are truly HIS WORDS, or just depicted as his words by the authors. And even the Bible itself admits that it contains false information [Jeremiah 8:8]

***You (evolutionists) are chasing an answer that you are never going to find..***

Its better than just accepting a made-up answer, as an excuse to stop thinking for yourself.

Regardless.. Even if there was a big bang. Something had to be there to cause it. -.-
Chance is not a giver of life. This was all was all planned by God. EVERYONE KNOWS YOU CAN'T MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING. So stop useing this Big Bang Bull and look around for once.. You can see the work of God everywhere. No matter how many excuses you guys come up with it's still always going to all point to God.

***Something had to be there to cause it.***

Yeah, and if you want to think that way, then something had to be there to cause GOD as well...

***EVERYONE KNOWS YOU CAN'T MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING.***

That's a tad contradictory considering the creationism theory involves EXACTLY that. No... everyone (generalization) knows that WE can't make something out of nothing.

***You can see the work of God everywhere.***

...which God? You only BELIEVE its the ''work of God'' ...because you believe in God. Not because there is tangible evidence to support it.

***No matter how many excuses you guys come up with it's still always going to all point to God.***

...excuses pointing to another excuse? How silly... and incorrect.

No matter how many excuses people come up with (including god), the ANSWER will remain UNKNOWABLE.

who created God? And are we to use as an explanation for everything that we don't know that it was god? Which god? There have been thousands concocted by humans throughout our existence on earth. Why not multiple gods? Or some collective spiritual entity made up of all our souls? Why must necessarily some higher power(s) have created us, or be the reason for our existence? No the notion of a god doesn't answer or prove anything. It isn't even satisfactory as an answer for the things that we do not yet know. And there is no reason btw, to suggest that we wont learn the answers to these questions in future. Imagine how ignorant those who existed a century ago seemed to us. Thanks to scientific evidence we now know so much more, and will continue to do so. That's if we manage to evade the very real possibility of a religious nuclear war in the 21st century.

Let me ask you this? Can you comprehend living forever? It's easy for us to comprehend living forever but not so easy to comprehend existing forever. That is because we have a physical body and are programed to slove problems logicly. And since we are givin a beginning we are under the Impression that everything has to have a beginning. This is not so with a spirt. Since a spirt is not bonded with a physical body it can exist in a manner that is out physical limitations. We can't comprehend this because a physical body has a beginning and is all it ever knew.

GODs wizdom are like the oceans while ours are like a cup of water. What do you think would happen if GOD were to take his wisdom and put all of it in our head so that we might understand something like this? You guys are having it hard enough as it is.

Well I disagree with that but I don't care enough to argue against it. I just wonder why I should believe your supernatural explanation for life on this earth, as oppose to the countless others? Belief in god is exactly the same as believing in Santa Claus.

I dont know about how jesus has anything to do with evolution
but why dont we have gills? because we dont need them
why arnt there half sheep/half frogs? because that would be stupid and there would be no use for an animal like that
also, evolution takes MILLIONS of years, not a few, or a few thousand, a few MILLION
so were not going to see any really noticable changes to the human body through evolution for a long time

I will discuss the big bang theory, just to get my coins on the table. Black holes are real and they exist. This HAS been proven. Black holes suck everything, even light, and condense it into a particle about the size of a potato. Now imagine if all the matter in the physical universe were over time, slowly sucked and compacted into these little heavy-matter potatoes, and then the larger black holes would suck up all the small ones and so on and so forth, until there's one super powerful and immense black hole left and all the physical mass in existence is compressed inside. Once it gets it all in and collapses into the ultimate and only super-matter, It becomes unstable and eventually explodes violently, due to the law of balance. Our understanding of this universally massive and creative event is the closest human science has come to defining 'god'. We have no concern in the affairs of any god. How self aggrandizing of us to think we make a lick of difference to 'him'.

...I got your 'faith' right here...
Try having faith in the sun not imploding tomorrow.
Or some faith in the possibility that we still have a chance to adapt, so that the damage we have wrought on our planet won't be uninhabitable.
Maybe even a little FAITH IN EVOLUTION.
I'm not talking about scientology!

***Then why doesnt it happen now??? ***
Who says it isn't happening now. evolution take place over MILLIONS of years, and it IS happening now in some species. You OBVIOUSLY know NOTHING about evolution. Next time RESEARCH a topic BEFORE you try to make a point.

***Why dont humans have gills??? Or trees have feathers??? You think that we came from a rock?? Why dont we have half sheep half frogs??***

Why SHOULD they? What would be the purpose of it humans having gills or trees having feathers?

*** We all came from one species right?? And you say it does exist... And all you bring up is HIV/disease..***

What about the rattlesnakes that are busy evolving, or elephants who over the past 200 years have evolved significantly in order to have a BETTER chance of survival.

*** But evolution is good for us right?? Jesus walked the earth for 33 years and you have yet to prove him wrong..***

How do YOU know that Jesus even existed? And neither evolution NOR the big bang theories are there to prove your god wrong. So what the hell are you on about?

Oh and the BIG BANG is a THEORY (are you able to comprehend what that word means? ). In other words it ATTEMPTS to explain who created the universe, it doesn't say that the big bang is a FACT.

And ever though WHO OR WHAT created your GOD??? For some reason this question is always ignored by believers.

*** This was all was all planned by God. EVERYONE KNOWS YOU CAN'T MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING.***

Really, but I thought that god could be made from nothing.

*** So stop useing this Big Bang Bull and look around for once.. You can see the work of God everywhere.***
ONCE AGAIN, the big bang is a THEORY, not a fact. And you don't even KNOW whether god exists.

*** No matter how many excuses you guys come up with it's still always going to all point to God.***

How many badly thought out arguments are you still going to come up with? And there is still no proof that god exists.

***It's easy for us to comprehend living forever but not so easy to comprehend existing forever.***

Actually we can't comprehend EITHER, because we cannot accomplish EITHER.

***That is because we have a physical body and are programed to slove problems logicly.***

Oh so now you think we are pre-programmed to think with logic? Ridiculous. You're losing credibility with each sentence, Mr. Vulcan.

***GODs wizdom are like the oceans while ours are like a cup of water.***

Bad analogy. The oceans are vast, but they are FINITE. Don't put a limit on God...

***What do you think would happen if GOD were to take his wisdom and put all of it in our head so that we might understand something like this?***

That's easy... then we'd understand it... but we don't. That includes YOU, but you're still flailing away, trying to explain something that is beyond your comprehension. So why are you wasting your breath?

***You guys are having it hard enough as it is.***

Speak for yourself, you're failing to make a point. You're just rambling...

Interesting contrast: Most of those of us on this site who are atheists know and study religion. Most of those who are creationists, such as the dear poster of this question, have never actually bothered to take the time to understand the science before trying to criticize it. Interesting contrast, no?

I see that you guys are narrow minded and what im trying to do is inevitable. Just please know that Jesus loves you.. And when people start disappearing and they want to put a Microchip into your body and say that its going to be good for you just read revelation please... Just know that there is going to be a one world currency, one world government and a one world leader... There are going to tell you that its good for you...You will not have a choice.. And it says that the Anti-Christ will fool the entire world.. And it looks to me from reading above that its already happening.

No, narrow minded is what you're being - refusing to listen to evidence that challenges your beliefs. I just refuted the fallacies in your post fairly thoroughly - the sensible thing to do would be to read, reconsider, and respond.
