Stop asking if you're pretty!

Stop asking if your pretty...what a waist of time I mean seriously though...go on myspace and ask that do someone...go outside and ask someone but dont ask someone on funadvice I mean its pointless...every five minutes the same question gets asked from some girl that just wants attention...which gets realll annoying...like I said its pointless...if you want that question answered for god sake go on a dating site but dont ask it on here...(((signs))) geez...!!! : )

Some people have a serious problem with self esteem and self confidence so need constant reassurance to make them feel good.

The problem with this is that if 99 people reply and say they look great and one person replies and says they are ugly, they will ignore the 99 others and just react to the response from the 1.

They often do not do this to be 'attention seekers' but that is often how those with good self esteem will interpret what is basically a cry for help.

These people can be helped but only with professional counselling.

I know it can be annoying when these type of questions appear on this site but all I ask is that you perhaps try and see it through their eyes and not make a snap judgement that they are attention seekers.

Many of these individual have grown up with friends and families constantly putting them down, telling they are worthless and ugly until this becomes so ingrained, they just accept it and believe they are worthless and ugly people.

I think this is a very sad situation, however, sympathy is not the answer, politely suggesting that they seek professional help (like those who are real skinny that think they are fat) would be far more constructive advice in such situations.

There is no quick fix and even with professional support, progress can take a long time. After all, many of these people had these thoughts forced into them during their first 10 years or so of the most influencial part of their lives.

Just my opinion based upon managing a homeless hostel where many people felt this way about themselves.

kierra, why are you so negative? whenever someone says something that you don't agree with or like, you swear at them and tell them to leave you alone. have you noticed this?

if you're going to ask people question, be prepared to hear their answers.

wow how bout if you dont like the question dont answer it! maybe the girls dont have great confidence! funadvice is a site where you can ask questions any questions! just dont answer them than simple as that. or maybe you were to busy looking at your vain self in the mirror to actually pay attention to things. leave them alone!!! somepeople dont feel great bout themselves they dont want attention they want answers and if you have a problem bring it to an advisor.

I think people asking if they are pretty is really annoying. They obviously aren't getting attention, and thats their way of getting it. I truly believe in order for others to see the beauty in someone, they have to see the beauty in their selves.

It bugs me when people ask 'Am I Ugly' and their user name contains a word like; sexy, hot, etc. Obviously they think they are attractive if they have that type of user name. And it also bugs me when users put captions for their photos saying 'I know, I'm so ugly'... if they thought that, would they post the picture? I highly doubt it!
