Europe and my boyfriend

my teacher who is like a mother to me got me a intership to go to Europe next summer to study and to work. At the end of the trip, I would recieve a scholarship for college plus the money I made. I told my boyfriend over the phone the news and he got so mad saying how can you go over there and you dont know anything. We was aruging and I told him why can't you just be happy someone believes in me to do this task. He got mad and hanged up.
