Ethnic background

So I've been looking for my dad's side of the family cause my dad died when me and my sister were about three (we are twins). His parents are no longer living. I've been trying to figure out my ethnic background, like where my families come from. I look...

african american but my mom and her family members don't ( to some extent). Back in elementary school, I got I looked Asian cause of my eyes. My mom's aunt had green eyes and my uncle has brown eyes with a blue ring around them (super cool). I did a search on my last name I have and got back where the name originated from and I'm not surprised at what I found for that . So how can I figure out what I really am? Can't they do a dna test to figure that out?

I think I'm hispanic (one of my uncles looks Spanish..from Spain), black, european, indian (from India and native american), asian (japanese or chinese or Filipino..cause of my eye color), and from the Islands (like Jamacia or Trini cause of my dad).

Have you asked your mom about her ethnicity? And where her family originates? What ethnicity did your last name trace back to? There's not much that I can help you out with other than tell you to ASK your family instead of evaluating based on what you see. They should have no problem with supplying you with this information. You want to be proud of who you are. But how are you supposed to do that if you don't know WHAT you are? I bet you hate it when you have to check the box that asks for your ethnicity. I can only imagine. In my family there is Indian(Native American) in our blood line, but black runs stronger. So I always say that I'm black. And I have also found that I have Irish and Purto Rican blood relatives. But they are so far down the blood line it probaly won't show up on a DNA test that shows my ethnicity. So just ask your mother what her ethnicity is and what your dads was. She might be thrilled of your concern and wouldn't mind answering your question.
