just like you would a short time friendship...you tell the peron you dont want to be his friend anymore, give reasons why, and say goodbye

Wow, a friend is hard to find esp. nowadays. Unless, there is a super duper good reason I don't know why you would end it.
Regardless, you will need to give the reason, and then let the other explain and if you still need to end it well then it has to be done. Just like any other relationship leave in as good terms possible you don't a battle to start or you know any type of negative feelings on both sides. Well good luck.
