Do employment history background checks show everything?

Do employment background checks show ALL the previous jobs a person has worked for, or just some of them? If so, which ones do they show? Also, does it show exact start and end dates of each job?

Hi,

At my work, it shows many of the jobs for potential employees, but there sometimes gaps in the record. If you don't remember the exact dates, I wouldn't worry. Most employers don't worry too much about those specifics, they are more concerned with legal troubles or terminations.
