Okay, I have a question... If I live in Wisonsin, and live with my sister and my boyfriend and my kid, but I'm paying rent to stay there and recieving no help from my parents, who live in ohio...Could I legally be seperated from them? I also heard that at 16 you can get married and automatically be considered an adult... help?

shut up editor, not trying to be rude but it's ridiculous if you'd point out something so vague, I know how to spell it's a typo, get over it.

I've been looking into this for a friend of my aunt's. Maybe some of these websites can help.

Here's a list of states and the chapters relating to emancipation (though, it may be a bit outdated or off a bit):

http://www.law.cornell.edu/topics/Table_Emancipation.htm

The previous table said chapter 48 would deal with emancipation but I think chapter 54 might be more appropriate:

http://next.legis.state.wi.us/next/gateway.dll?f=templates&fn=default.htm&vid=WI:Default&d=stats&jd=ch.%2048

Then there are some general articles:

http://www.legalmatch.com/law-library/article/emancipation-lawyers.html

http://family.findlaw.com/emancipation/emancipation-court-procedure.html

http://www.bostoncoop.net/lcd/emancipation/emancipation_deliverable.pdf

http://www.laborlawtalk.com/archive/index.php/t-82739.html

I think this one may tell us why I'm having a hard time finding the chapter, it states there is no emancipation status for WI.

http://www.jlc.org/index.php/factsheets/emancipationus

But basically you can go to court and just ask them and maybe they'll do it anyway.

Wisconsin Statutes Section 880.04(1): Emancipation of married minors.
---
Except for minors found to be incompetent, upon marriage, a minor shall no longer be a proper subject for guardianship of the person and a guardianship of the person is revoked by the marriage of a minor ward. Upon application, the court may release in whole or in part the estate of a minor ward to the ward upon the ward's marriage. Upon marriage, the guardianship of an incompetent is subject to review under s. 880.34.
