Emancipation in oklahoma

Asked by adawnfetter 3 months ago, 1 answer.

Okay, so a friend of mine was forced by her parents to quit her job tonight with no notice and she is no longer allowed to see her boyfriend. This is extremely hard, seeing as her boyfriend is my future brother-in-law and we are all extremely close. Her sister followed her to the apartment her boyfriend, my fiance, and I all live in when she spent the night then told her parents. She hates living with them and wants to become emancipated. She does have an instance where her father ran after her, pulled her down by her hair, and was yelling at her, but there's no evidence or witnesses. Her mom spanked her with a wooden spoon until two or three years ago. She is 16. She now refuses to talk to her parents. She is allowed to get another job, just not the one she had with her boyfriend. I told her to save up as much money as she could. I don't know if she is able to get legal help immediately as she is under close supervision by her parents at the moment. What can she do to build a case for emancipation? What requirements are there? She is a sophomore and still has a 4.0 GPA but is now considering dropping out of school because of her parents' actions. She's involved in choir and school activities and has a very good work ethic. She's very responsible. I can tell all of this and I haven't known her for more than two months.

Well she could get emancipated but she has to go to court and prove to the judge that she can make it on her own... or If she is living in a bad envirorment like if her parents are abuseing her or if the house isnt fit like if there is drug use or anything then she can take this to court and tell them that this house isnt fit and she wants to be emancipated tough battle but can be done.
