I don't think you should touch the parakeets egg because if you touch it... the bird won't sit on it again. =(
Doesn't your scent rub off onto the egg, so she won't think that its her baby?
I'm Pretty Sure the Bird wont Touch it again, After you Touched it. =[ Im sorry.
just get rid of it if you have two birds one female and one male but if it is just a girl the egg dose not have a baby inside she is not going near it cause A. you touched it B. it is not fertilized so you really have nothing to worry about but if you leave it there for too long your going to have a rotten egg Good luck
If your parakeet wont touch it, I suggest getting an egg warmer. It's normally used for science classes, but it will help hatch the egg. Try searching it on e-bay. Or ask your pet store if they have one.
some female birds will just lay eggs even if there is no male around... they just get broody...if she hasn't mated then its an unfirtilized egg... that could be the reason... you didn't mention if she has mated or not.
Everything above is 100% true. you touch a egg the bird wont go back to it. if the bird hasnt been feertilized the egg is emty.

Why won't my parakeet touch her egg?
