well what you do is set them as a fraction first...so 1:2 would be 1/2. then when you have two fractions, you set them next to each other (ex. 1/2 = 3/4) and then you multiply the two times the three and see what that is ( so it would be 6) and then you multiply the one by the four and see what that is (4) and since 6 doesn't equal 4, the fraction isn't proportional. but if they DO equal each other, the fraction is proportional.

im having troubles determining whether ration are purpotional. Can you word how to work the problem in a way I can understand?
