Is it bad to pierce yourself?

Is it bad to pierce your cartliage yourself if you use a steralized needle and everything?

eheh NO! do not do that..the est way to go is with the gun..but please consider a professional. seriously its not that much money. I learned something from when I got my nose peirced..when peircing cartilage if you dont use something to keep it from shifting while the needle goes through it is not a straight pierce which means that the cartalige is uneven and it can be harder to get something through it..and if you get an infection it can be harder to handle. go to a professional. its only 20 dollars or so..and its worth it

You can pierce yourself but its difficult. I have done it. As long as everythings steril. If you really need to, get your friends to do it. How do you think they did it in the 50's lol. Make sure its straight and your sure thats what you want to do. If you mess up or something you can take it out and let it heal. It would be best to let a professional do it for you though.

Well with percing any thing you really need to consider what you going to use. (with any thing thats not really really clean, and I mean any thing, you could have an infection for about 2 to 4 and a half weeks. That is horrible I've done it before and it is the wrost thing you could do!!
You need stuff like
A friend there with you if your going to do it your self, A clean clean clean nedlle (a must) , gloves (4 you and your friend), Ice Ice Ice!!, A STEADY HAND!! you would TOTALLY ruin you whole life if you had a retarded percing. But the thing is, its always best to go pro at a percing place! ;-) for sure

I've peirced my ears four times by myself. all the stories about it hitting a vein and killing you r bull. last week I got pissed at my mom so I just pierced my cartilidge with a starter earring. its still a little sore but hey.. im still alive. id love to know how it turns out and what uve decided to do so you can message me about it if you want! good luck!

do not listen to these kids. DO NOT PIERCE IT YOURSELF!! especially since you do not know what you are doing. doing it yourself is ghetto just cause you want to save a couple dollars. GO TO A PROFESSIONAL!!

I know almost everyone else said it's safe, but it's really a bad idea. I have pierced myself many times, when I was younger, and it is not the smart thing to do. Even if you sterilize the needle, you cannot properly sterilize the jewelry or your hands unless you have an autoclave, which I'm positive you do not.

Not only that, but sewing needles, safety pins, and other things people use to pierce themselves are blunt, and do not have a hole in the middle like proper piercing needles.

What's more--DO NOT GET PIERCED WITH A PIERCING GUN. I don't care how many people did it and were fine, it's not safe, and it inflicts blunt force trauma on your ears, and the plastic parts of the gun have been known to spread Hepatitus because it cannot be sterilized. Go to a professional piercer, not some chick in a mall, and get it done right way. You'll be happy you did.

I think it's bad to pierce yourself. If the Lord wanted you to have holes in your body, he would have put them there when you were born. Why disfigure yourself for a 'FAD"?

I peirced my nose myself it kinda hurt for a couple of seconds but it was worth it I peirced it about 2 months ago my parents dont know though and I dont plan on telling them just yet
