Why do we have ears if nobody listens?

how come we have ears if nobody seems to listen. Sean covey, author of & steps to a highly effecient teen says "The greatest need of a human hear t is to be listened to" and its so true. nobody seems to listen to any thing I try and say and I hate...

that. does any body else feel like nobody listens to them?

Your ears are meant for hearing, not for listening. It is your mind that must be trained for listening.

I agree, I listen to people, if they'll listen to me, ill give you good advice, if you'll give me good advice, etc, I do you like you do me, thats how I do things...I feel the same way, ya know my story , you know what im meaning, I've been there...and I hate it too

Ethmer is right. Our ears evolved in order for us to hear predators approach and to find prey. Listening is a skill that we must learn. Think about the last time you had a conversation with someone. Were you really listening to what they said or just thinking about what you'd say next?
