Chandra Gupta II ruled in what is today's India from 376 to approx. 413 BC. He was one of the most important rulers of the powerful GUPTA DYNASTY, and his times are known as the 'Golden Age' of India.

His empire covered much of the northern part of the Indian subcontinent, from the mouth of the Ganges to the mouth of the Indus, from North Pakistan to the mouth of the Narmada River.
