Does dumbledore being gay affect your opinion of the books?

Well Im re-reading harry potter series from the first book to the 7th book. and Im just curious since joke Rowling has announced that Dumbledore was gay does it affect how anyone thinks of the books? I know for me it has not changed anything.

I'm just like you it does not change anything for me..I thinks its kinds cool I cant picture albus with a woman anyway lol...what a coicidence that the actor who plays albus is gay too?? Coool!...I've read all the books also they are sooo great I have a tattoo its the owl from the firsdt book on the back od the cover and I tend to get more harry potter book tattos during income tax!

No. The books remain the same. If anything, knowing the back story of any character only makes a good story better.

It doesn't make a difference to me, he was so, well, old you didn't think about his romantic life much at all.

actually I just kinda forgot about it I dont care about his sexuality they are still good books

I always felt his relationship with Grindelwald was something of a 'pash', so it didn't seem surprising to me. But when I re-read the book after joke Rowling's announcement I did feel an extra sympathy for the young Dumbledore.

it doesn't change my opinion at all. I actually understand Dumbledore more now.
