you lost anyone to drunk driving?

Some friends of mine lost someone close to them who got involved in a drunken drag-race. And a relative of mine lost her husband and his best friend (who were both doctors working with children because some moron high on dope and speed rammed into their car. It's an issue that does need to be addressed better, but there really is a limit to what can be done sadly . I can't stand people who think they can drink and still drive safely. They are instantly putting people's health/ lives at risk.

I think people who drive drunk are f*cking idiots. Drinking is 100% ok, as long as you do it responsibly. If your going to be drinking, have a sober person there to take you home... or stay home and get drunk in the safety of your own home or a friend/family member's house, that way you and other people won't get hurt/killed when you try to make it home. It's sad how many people die or are injured each year due to other people's stupidity. When you drive drunk, your not just putting yourself in danger... your putting the lives of everyone else around you. People just think that they'll make it fine, or they think that something bad won't happen to them. Well news flash - life doesn't work that way. Anything can happen to anyone at anytime and if you risk driving drunk, chances are you won't make it home. You'll end up getting pulled over by a cop *which would actually be your best bet*, getting in a wreck and killing yourself or someone else, or seriously injuring yourself or another innocent person. Bottom line is it's not worth the risk. Drinking is fine, but don't drive drunk. Do it at home or at a friend's house.
