Why are my friends just drifting away?

is it just me or are my friends slowly falling apart...and all we have that's keeping us together is school? like we don't hang out anymore...some of them are becoming totally exclusive on events...like parties...esp. b-day ones of our close friends...and all? And they just don't tell you anything anymore? Is it really just my head wandering off or are my friends and I just drifting away? And when I try talking to my "closest" fried it just seems all awkward and she doesn't want tot alk at all. Is it time to change some friends? Or should I just keep trying...? When I try they seem to pull away even harder.

You will discover as you are growing older that people you used to hang with all the time are in the picture as much as they used to be.
Why?
Peoples interests are changing, their focus on life, where they want to be, where they want to go, what they want to do and hope to accomplish.
Just because they are walking on a different path doesn't mean that they like you any less, it just means they are testing the waters on their dreams, pursuits and people they associate with.

I feel the same as you do. I know it can be difficult, but we have to carry on. At least then we know we wer'nt the ones that gave up on our friendship. My best friend started drifting away in year 9. I am now in year 11 and it just seemed to get worse. I Keep trying but it always feels like I should just give up. If we didnt go school I dont think we would still be friends as I never see her outside of school. I know im not much help.. but hope it feels better knowing someone is in the same situations as you.
