Dreamweaver replacement

Ah. Asked by akumo 10 months ago, 2 answers.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good replacement for Macromedia Dreamweaver, I am a professional web coder obviously, I've always used notepad for pretty much ALL of my coding needs, but I also use dreamweaver for complex scripting to view while coding, just...

saves time. What I'm looking for is some decent app's that do the following.

1) View capable (like dreamweavers design view)
2) Error checking
3) Something relatively small, I don't want all the ad dons Dreamweaver has or I would just go grab it again.

Thanks for any help, it's appreciated.

Well Dreamweaver pretty much dominates the market. Microsoft Frontpage is the only other decent web-editing tool. I wouldn't know too much about HTML, I'm more of a Flash guy actually.

Ah yeah, I dont do HTML, dreamweaver is just too bulky and annoying for me, always used notepad, but lately I've been wanting a view option without reloading firefox every edit.

I do PHP, AJAX, HTML, some JavaScript and trying to learn Ruby on Rails.
