Dreaming is a natural brain function, nothing more. Dreams have no spiritual significance, nor are they messages from the supernatural realm. We know this because we are able to monitor activity in every section of the brain during dreams.

There are different theories about why this is a brain function. It ranges from helping to consolidate and organize memories, managing subconscious thoughts, emotions, and desires, removing unnecessary junk, and even helping the brain remain in a state of rest so as to avoid be awakened by external stimuli. This last theory is interesting because many people have reported sounds and smells incorporated somehow into their dreams, only to awaken and find those stimuli are actually happening or were during sleep.

no it's not all 'lil fun', some dreams have meanings, and some dreams come true, sometimes you can dream of things before they happen, and sometimes it's just your mind having a lil' fun, but most of the time it's not, and don't you ever tell anyone your bad dreams!!! ask ME!! everytime I tell someone about a bad dream I had, the second month, week, or day, it comes true!!!

I think it's both. We've all had stupid dreams before. But I've had my share of strange ones too. For instance, my grandmother had gotten cancer and was very sick. One night I had a dream that she had died. The very next morning, my mother woke me up to tell me she had passed away. Coincidence? Maybe. Who knows?
