Dreadlocks?

hi there (= Asked by hellij 4 months ago, 9 answers.

Real dreads or synthetic dreads?! (synthetic look more fun) but I was reading on a few dread websites that people have real dreads for a reason or to go on a journey ? O.o I don't understand that .! Perhaps someone could explain this journey to me

Dreadlocks have a sacred meaning to Rastafarians and the holy men of India. They can signify your disregard to what people think of your looks or their path to spiritual enlightenment, probably 'the journey' the websites were referring to. Today, it's just a hairstyle to many people. Real dreads are formed from not brushing, washing or cutting your hair for a period of time in which your hair begins to 'mat up' and tangle. The only way to remove dreads is to cut all your hair off. Synthetic dreads would be the best if you are just considering dreadlocks as a casual hairstyle and not a way of life.

you can wash your hair when forming dreadlocks, thats a common misunderstanding myth about dreadlocks, and when you want to remove dreadlocks you can comb them out it will take sometime. look it up on youtube
