Does oatmeal really work for blackheads?

I heard that an oatmeal mask helps get rid of blackheads. Is that true???

I think it might be more that oatmeal has wonderful exfoliating properties - it can cleanse away the dead skin cells and it's a healthy product to use on your face. So if it does work, it might be in a more long-term way. And in that sense, even a bar of soap made with oatmeal can probably do the job too.
