Does he want to be more than friends?

I've been really good friends with this one guy for like 2 years. It's kind of like a brother sister thing. We pick on each other a lot, but we can have a great serious conversation. He always comes to me for girl advice, but he's too shy to really take it. He's never had a girlfriend before. I heard from one of his friends that he kinda likes me, but really just wants a girlfriend so people will know he dates. I don't know if I like him anymore, but I use to a lot. The friend wants me to go out with him so we can see what kind of boyfriend he is(clingy pushy stc.) but I'm not so sure. What if he dosen't like me, then when I ask him about it things will get weird between us, and if he finds out about the plan it could really hurt him in future relationship trust things. Or what if we hit it off and actually start for real dating, then he finds out how it all started. What I guess I'm really asking is do you think he wants to be anything more than friends with me?

dont go there friends are special and its very very hard to find a good one, I would just let it carry on the way it going. and as for your friend let her find out what kind of boyfriend he is by asking him out herself.
As you get older it may just flip and you where actually made for each other
