Does he still love me?

I went out with this guy for 8 months and it was literally love at first sight. I was besotted with him. He lives far away so we only saw each other once a week. I'm 15 and he's 17. He's not the best looking guy in the world and yes, he does annoy the hell out of me, but I do still love him. We broke up about 8 months ago...I think...because of lifestyle problems such as he wanted to get a job and I had exams etc to take. We've said that we still love each other and plan on getting back together one day when we've sorted our lives out.

But I'm afraid that we're going to leave it too late. I know that I am still so in love with him and although I'm only young I believe that he could be 'the one' or whatever. Recently we've been seeing less and less of each other and talking less and less and I just feel as though I'm losing him. I'm trying my best to keep us afloat but it's feels like I'm doing it by myself and he's not trying. When I tell him that I love him he just says 'I love you too' in a non-convincing tone. And when we talk about it he says he'd rather change the subject because he thinks I'll get upset about some things he wants to say.

I don't want to give up because he is the love of my life, but if I don't I may never find true happiness.

Shall I give up? Or keep on trying?
