How can I tell if he wants to be with me or not?

Hi. I dated this guy for 6 months and everything was perfect until the last few weeks. He said he needs to be single right now and concentrate on his job. I said ok and told him I still wanted to be friends and he said he did too and that he didnt want to lose me completely. But Im confused because when I see him its like nothing has ever happened and he tells me how much he misses me. How can I tell if he wants to be with me or not?

How can you tell if he wants to be with you or not? He just told you what he wants by breaking up with you. He doesnt love you, if he wants to be single. He was just letting you down nicely, by saying that he needs to concentrate on his job. People handle jobs, and relationships ALL the time....its part of life! If he truly loved, and missed you, he wouldnt have dumped you! When you say you both want to be friends...I hope its not friends with benefits, because I would have to call him a hypocrite. Hes just using you for sex, because he doesnt want the commitment!! (just thought I would throw that out there)

I would leave him he's probly been cheating on you, telling you what you want to hear so he can mess with you and all these other girls with out you knowing

six months and all of sudden he wants to concentrate on a job, seriously this guy seems like a jerk to me, I mean he only said that so this way he can have his cake and eat it too, he wants to be friends so he still sees and talks to you but telling you that he misses you and all smells like bs to me, he just wants to be single so this way he can talk to who ever he wants to when he wants and not worry about dealing with a relationship, sounds like a coward to me. He's going to have a job for a long time most likely so why all of sudden a girlfriend gets in the way, I've been with my boyfriend for 5 months and we really like eachother very much, we also work together and in the beginning I told him that we shouldn't get together because of that but I couldn't resist and now we both have two jobs and he's going to be going to school in about a week again and our relationship is good. I think that you should move on then and find someone who truly cares about you and don't stop him from doing whatever it is he wants to do. Good Luck lil lady
