Does he like me and should i approach him ?

Well, there's someone in the high school I go to, and I guess I could class him between an acquaintance and a sort of friend .
We like a lot of the same things, for example, the Skulduggery Pleasant books, industrial rock music and, not to be stuck up,...

but, we are the most intelligent people in our different year groups in school .
I really think we could be better friends if we spoke more to each other and hung out more together, but, I think if I approached him or if he approached me and I said ok, he would want to be more than good friends . I'm not worried about jeopardising what could be our current relationship because I think if one of us approached the other we could really hit it off . I'm just not sure if he likes me in that kind of way . It seems like it to me, because whenever I enter a room or the same area as him, or the opposite, he always looks to see where I am before he does something else . Also on a regular basis if he's in a conversation with one of the guys in his group, he'll stop, look at me for about 5 seconds, then he'll go back to his conversation, and at regular intervals he'll glance over at me .
He also does the two main things I do when he's near . If I'm with a friend and I think he's within earshot, if my friend's talking, I'll stop her and start talking quite loud (which I know isn't nice, but she's figured out why I do that), and if I'm talking I speak quite a bit louder than I usually do (I speak really quiet when I speak normally). Also if he makes a joke, I laugh insanely, even if the joke is quite bad .
He does those things as well when I make a joke or when I'm within earshot .
So I need some advice to see if some other people think he wants to be more than good friends like I want as well, and if you do think he wants to be more than that, should I ask him if he wants to go out some time or should I wait for him to approach me ?

I think he seems to like u, unless he's just flirting. Wait until you're proper friends and if he doesn't ask you out maybe you could get his and your friends together and go shopping/park or somewhere, then see what happens and if things seem good you can try and casually ask him if he wants to go out somewhere. hope this helps. gd luck

awww... it sounds to me like you two sound quite close already and I think that it'd work out quite well!! so if you've been friends for quite awhile and you truly see the good qualities in him that can make him a super boyfriend I say GO FOR IT!! continue your friendship, but take it to the next leave... by sharing your personal emotions (if you haven't already done so), hang out alone after school, call him up or stir a chat on msn, flirt around with him every once in awhile... and if he doesn't catch your drift... find the right moment and just say something like I feel that I'm starting to like you... or like hey, I noe a girl who really likes you... she's (then list some of the same interests you have that he has)
