Does getting your tongue pierced hurt?

I'm 18yrs old and already have 15 piercings, my ears 13x, belly and lower side lip.
Out of all those my bellybutton hurt the most, the lady doing it said I have skin like an alegator =/ and with my ears I did them all by myself except for 4.

type who really gets worked up over nothing, and I get really nervous, I get hot, start shaking and sometimes get stomach aches.

*I really want my tongue pierced, it's cute and hot. I was just wondering how much does it REALY hurt! Throughout the whole process untill healed.

*Is it hard to eat with a bar in yout mouth?

*How do you know what size to wear after the first couple of weeks?

Everyone I know that has gotten it done loves theirs, too.
It doesn't hurt like everyone thinks..I personally think my cartilage ear piercings hurt way more than the tongue.
When I got it done, they didn't ask me... they made me use Listerine to sanitize my mouth. It made it so tingly I couldn't feel anything, though.
They didn't tell me to come back, I did it myself, but it's a little hard.. if you went back there after the swelling went down and asked them to change it for you, they would.

You having all of the piercings you already have, especially the belly button, the tongue will be a piece of cake.

*Getting it pierced didn't hurt me AT ALL. What they did was give me Listerine to gargle... they made me do it for so long, that by the time I was done my tongue was tingly and kind of numb. I didn't feel any pain, just the needle going through.

The next morning it swelled like a balloon and hurt a little bit when I ate hot things.. after a couple of days it felt better. (everyone's different, and for some it doesn't even swell at all).

*It's a little strange trying to eat food with the bar at first (especially the long one they put in), but you get used to it. Sometimes I forget I even have it in.
After the swelling goes down, you can go back to the piercer and have them change it to a shorter bar.

*Usually they pierce the tongue with a 14 gauge barbell. (There's only one length besides the one they use to accommodate swelling).

You'll be fine, just make sure you keep it clean.. brush your teeth/tongue whenever you eat or drink anything. Try not to play with it much while it heals. DON'T take it out and leave it out... it heals very quickly.I've had mine for over 4 years and I still love it. Anymore questions, feel free to ask.

Cool thanks, I've just heard so many different oppinions that it's driving me insane haha, some say it's not worth it and some say they love it. I overall LOVE piercings so that won't be a problem.

When you go do they ask you if you want somthing to numb the pain or no?

And they do tell you to come back to replace the barbell?

Ahhh I'm nervous, but in a good way.
