Does getting the depo provera shot hurt?

I currently take birth control pills, but I am thinking about switching to the depo provera shot instead. I find it to be more relieving to not have to worry about missing any pills or being on time.

Anyway, I guess my question is..just how much does the shot hurt? I've heard it hurts a lot. but I also heard the HPV shot hurts, and I dont think it does, except for a second.(but im a big and I mean BIG baby when it comes shots.)

I think you can get the shot in your arm or your buttocks, correct? Which one is better? Which hurts less?
Please help me!!!
