I got my outline and coloring done at the same time and I thought the coloring was much easier to handle. They used smaller needles but more of them, where the black outline was a much bigger needle but only one. Generally the more surface area that comes in contact with your skin the more its going to hurt. So i felt the bigger needle one hurt way more than the coloring.

I don't have a very high threshold for pain. I took as much as I could getting the outline. And it's not even a very big tat. lol I guess I'll find out how much it will hurt next week. Thanks for the answers.

Plus, I have a tattoo on my ankle as well, and it didn't hurt nearly as much as the one on my arm...ouch!

Does coloring in a tattoo hurt?
I got my first tattoo last week. Well, the outline anyway. Can anyone tell me how much more or less it hurts to get it colored in? It's on my ankle. If it hurts anything as bad as the outline did, I may just leave it as it is.
