Does anyone know what causes this discharge?

my name is dan Asked by dan41790 about 1 year ago, 1 answer.

Okay,so its like kind of hard to explain.
Its kind of like,if you take play doh,and rub it wit your finger,it makes those tiny like, rubbing strands? Like a millimeter long.not like those huge snakes kids make by rolling it on the table.
Or,if you take...

a sticker, and it only peels half way and elave the sticky white papery stuff on the window? And you rub it,and you get those like, almost ricelike strands of paper?
Its kind of like that.I've been to the doctor about it,he thought it may have been a yeast infection, but the slides came back normal.
I have been experiencing itching.no burning recently, but aorund my last period there was a little bit.
Im not currently sexually active, but I was back in august, only orally though, with an inexperienced boy.

It's completely normal for your body to produce vaginal discharge daily. Usually clear, white, or yellowish in color, vaginal discharge contains mucus from your cervix, vaginal secretions, and cells sloughed from the vaginal wall.

The amount, texture, color, and scent may vary a lot depending on the time of your cycle and perhaps even your diet. For example, garlic and other herbs may scent vaginal fluids.

And regardless of your cycle, sexual arousal ramps up the volume of vaginal discharge.

In the following cases, vaginal discharge could signal trouble and should be checked out by a practitioner:

Greenish discharge, even if there are no other symptoms, can indicate a vaginal infection caused by the parasite Trichomonas.

A clumpy, cottage-cheese-like discharge can indicate a yeast overgrowth (yeast is a normal resident of the vagina, but it can cause itching or abnormal discharge if it gets out of hand--a common consequence of taking antibiotics).

An unpleasant fishy odor, sometimes accompanied by grayish discharge, can indicate bacterial vaginosis, an abnormal makeup of vaginal flora (the naturally occurring organisms in your vagina). Bacterial vaginosis isn't, strictly speaking, an infection, but it can be treated with antibiotics.

Some sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea and chlamydia cause no discernable change in discharge.

It's a good idea for women having sex with men to have an annual test for gonorrhea and chlamydia, both of which are easily curable.
