Does anyone else think this is ridiculous!?

okay...so my stepdad tries to tell me that I cant stand up and eat
he says I have to set down and eat because its the right way
and also...
I paid $120 out of my money...MY MONEY...to buy myself a awesome cell phone!!!
but every night my stepdad...

takes it and puts it in his room to charge
he says I don't need my phone to sleep
and btw im 16 years old

As for the phone thing, I guess it's a little extreme given your age, but his house his rules... you're 16, 2 more years you can start supporting yourself, leave, and do whatever you want...

Your step dad is pretty ignorant.
There's no 'right' way to eat. And the phone thing is pretty dumb. Why does he do that??
Should talk to your mum about this man.

It is disrespectful to stand and eat. Imagine you had friends over for dinner, you wanted everyone to sit down have a conversation but they were all standing as though they had some place they would rather be. I need to remember the phone line, but yes 16 you feel as though you would like more freedom and I cant blame you. But you need to recognize that he has authority over you even though you are not blood related. This authority was given by your mother when she married him. Yes you have a strict step father but it gives character later on down the road. Please try to respect him and eventually he will respect you.
