Does anyone actually eat fruitcake?

I was walking through the store with my family while gorcery shopping. We passed these Hostess fruitcakes so I picked one up and offered to my dad. He was like, 'Ew no one eats fruitcake.' So I told him, 'I bet SOME ONE does!'

So my question to you, the nice people of Fun Advice, should you choose to answer it is:

Well I was watching some show and they said that 92% of people that recive it for a gift throw it in the trash.
mines good but I use fresh cherries and almonds not those nasty green and red cherries

then wouldnt it be cherry-nut cake/bread?

never tried it so I woulds not really know but if people throw it out it must taste bad

Some commercial fruitcakes are pretty dreadful.

My mom used to make homemade fruitcakes and give them to everyone she knew at Christmas time. Her's were actually quite good.

I ACTUALLY LIKE FRUIT CAKE!!!
