Yes. I am Catholic but I have been to our Carismatic Masses and there is a lot of Holy Spirit movement and tongues going on. It is beautiful and it makes you feel so extremely peaceful.

Yes, Praise God... and I am so grateful for this experience. There are times when I do not know how to pray, so, I pray in the spirit. It is a wonderful gift.

speaking in tounges means speaking in a completely different launguage that you have never learnt or know nothing about.
it doesnt have anything to do with god, or praying!

Speaking in tongues comes from the Holy Spirit. This is not one of my spiritual gifts. I've seen it happen once, but it was not a language I recognized. The bible says on the day of Penticost the Holy Spirit filled those who were believers and they were able to minister to those around them who spoke different languages. Since then it has taken a different meaning.

The bible says it is a useless gift except to the person who has it, unless it can be interpreted or translated. The person who speaks in a toungue is edified but no other unless it can be interpreted.
