Do tongue piercings hurt?

I really want to get my tongue pierced but I am so scared. Im pretty well with taking pain, im so-so I guess..but I am so scared to get it done. My friend shellie got her tongue pierced and she passed out after.
Can you tell me all there is to know...

abotu tongue piercings, the good and the bad. And if it hurts. Should I get it? I've been wanting it for about a year and a half now..but scared shitless.
Help me please happy

meh dont listen to what anyone says. the piercing itself is so quick that you dont have time to react. the pain that everyone talks to is because people have no coping skills and dont know how to deal with the mild discomfort when your tongue swells up. its nothing and once it heals you wont even notice its there. if you want something you have to go for it. its better to regret the things you HAVE done than the things you havent.

yes what ana luna says is totally right, you dont feel anything, really, dont even think about it, just do it... you waste your energy worryng about the pain, really it doesnt feel anything hahah and its fun, I really love getting something pierced!!!

I just got mine about a week ago and I didnt feel it at all. but the same with my bellybutton. im rele good with pain. but the only thing that mite hurt is eating. just the chewing..especially in the morning since your tounge is sitting at the bottom of your teeth for those 7 or 8 hours so every morning I wud chew gum to get my tounge movin so it wouldnt hurt later.

it really doesn't hurt at all untill you wake up the day after with a toung bigger then your mouth =)

honestly...
it really doesnt hurt...
a big pinch...
its the after part that sux,...
you sound funny and you drool...
haha...
its sore...
and your tongue swells...
but it gets better in a few days,... in about a week and a half..ull be used to it...
just when you get it pierced...
KEEP IT CLEAN!!!

Don't worry.If people say it hurts they are exxagerating. Every1 says cartilage ear piercings kill but they don't because I got mine done 2 weeks ago + I barely felt it. Oh, and if your friend passed out after she got hers done, that's nothing, I passed out the first time I got my ear lobe pierced.

well no it wouldnt hurt but the swelling up part is a real pain in the but you no. I got it done 2 weeks ago and there was no pain whatsoever. happy
