I have a lazy eye and yes covering it will help.also if you go to an eye doctor, they may perscribe glasses that will make the lazy eye work harder. When I was five or six they did surgery to try and fix my lazy eye.they shortened the muscle in my eye lid, so now when I go to sleep that eye stays open...what a way to freak people out lol.sometimes it gets dried out and gives me a bad headache. But yeah my suggestion would be to go ahead with the eye patch, but also see the eye doctor for glasses.I hope this helps.

I don't think that works because if it does then everyone with a lazy eye would do it and no one would have a lazy eye

Lol well when I was little, I had a playmate who had lazy eye and she had her good eye patched. It's not just a myth. And after doing a quick research online, it's a real, and good treatment. You should get a doctor/optometrist to check out your eyes and give you the options best suited to you.

I too have a lazy eye.

one way to address the problem is to do exercises to strengthen your eye muscles

hold a pen about 8 inches away from your face and in front of your nose.
Focus on it.
slowly bring it in towards your nose, trying as hard as possible to keep it as one image
once the single image turns into double, move the pen out and away from the face again until you have a single image
Do this for 5-15 minutes a day.

when I was in the 6th grade, an optometrist told me to do that exercise for 5 minutes, 3 times daily and my eyes would straighten in a year
I didnt listen
However, when ever I do perform the exercises for a good amount of time, my eyes will not wonder (especially not with contact)

another thing to consider doing is to make a mental note to try and focus your eyes when in public or just in general.

Good luck!
