Do i have an eating or sleeping disorder?

Thunder Robot Asked by funadvice over 2 years ago, 3 answers.

It takes me at the very least an hour to get to sleep. Most often like two. I just lay there in bed and can't get to sleep or get comfortable (COULD have to do with the fact that my AC's broken and it's hotter than hell... but happened some before that...

too.)

But I also realized I don't eat very much. Due to my getting to sleep problem, which has lead to a weird sleep schedule where I don't get to sleep until like 1:00 or 2:00 or 3:00 AM and wake up until often 11:00 or 12:00 AM, I don't stick to a breakfast/lunch/dinner regiment and end up just eating when I get hungry, though most often don't bother until I'm like starving. By the end of the day I've eaten two waffles and like a submarine sandwich or something (and drank like 3 bottles of Gatorade...)

I was wondering if maybe my subconscious has developed an eating and/or sleeping disorder behind my back or something. Do these sleeping and eating habits seem weird and/or reflect signs of any said disorders?

You mean you have insomnia? I rarely think of it as a disorder, if ever.

If you're aware of your weird eating habits and you don't want to develop a serious eating disorder, try to start eating normally from now own. Force yourself to eat three times a day. Eat before you're hungry and stop before you get full. Gatorade is nice, but water is even better.

what is you age? Its very common for teenagers to sleep late and get up late- due to some hormonal thing .
Herbal teas- like limeflower have a good press, so are worth a try .
warm- milk (the lactic acid makes you sleepy) and hot water and lemon is a good, cleansing bed time drink.
Not eating regularly causes lots of health and emotional problems- so eat SOMETHING (healthy) every 4 hours.

Dear kamex,
First of all get rid of the Gatorade it is full of salt and other goodies meant for those who sweat a lot and deplete their system. It can be very dangerous for normal consumption. It takes about 2 weeks to break a habit so the only way is to break this cycle. If you can stay up on complet night...then go to bed the next night at about 10pm...set your alarm for 7am. For the next two weeks follow the 10pm bed time and the 7am wake up. This seems to work well for some.
Sue...good luck
