Do good looking people get more respected?

Sadly, I have to say that yes they do, in general.

Yes, the same goes for some one that takes care of themselves.

Sadly, yes, they usually tend to be treated better. But it also depends on the other person, some people don't give a care in the world what you may look like and they treat you as nice as someone that well, might seem more attractive. Usually they tend to be the older and wiser people that actually understand that everyone is different in the world and just because someone is beautiful- doesn't mean they should be treated better then the next person.

I think its been fairly established that if you are being tried for a crime in a court of law, you'll get a much lighter sentence if you're tall, blonde, thin and female, as opposed to being short, dark, fat and male.

In general, that's how humans are. And I believe as much as we say we would never fall into that trap, every one of us at some point, can be deceived by a sweet smile and an honest (looking) face.
